Week 5: Build Confidence in Reintroduction

Focus on the first step, not the whole staircase.

Now that you’ve built a solid foundation and gained confidence using the 7-step reintroduction protocol, you’re ready to move forward with greater momentum.

The most common roadblock during food reintroduction is automatically assuming that any unpleasant sensation after eating a new food means you’re sensitive to it—and stopping the reintroduction too soon.

Your work in Phase 1 to rebuild food and body trust has helped you develop a more objective mindset, so you can pause and ask yourself a few key questions:

  • Is it really the food?
  • If it is food-related, could my body simply need time to relearn how to process it?
  • Could this be a conditioned reaction—my Protector sounding a false alarm?

These questions help you step back, observe with curiosity, and make a thoughtful, informed decision about whether to continue the reintroduction.

Ready to go deeper?

Week 5 (Group Program) will help you:

  • Develop a safe, flexible reintroduction plan tailored to your unique needs and comfort level.
  • Differentiate between foods you can safely reintroduce and those you may choose to continue avoiding—for now.
  • Approach your food reintroduction journey with confidence, calm and an objective mindset.
